Dawson Tower is located next to the Colombo Kandy Road, the island's first modern freeway, close to Kadugannawa Pass. The Colombo-Kandy road began construction in 1820 under the leadership of Captain William Francis Dawson, who died while working on the project. Dawson Tower was built in Dawson's memory.
Since it resembles a lion's face, the overhanging rock known as "Lion's Mouth" is located at a bend in the railway between Balana and Kadugannawa. A tremendous plunge into the valley below can be seen when the train bends beneath the Lion's Mouth.
Sri Lanka Railways owns the railway museum, which opened on December 27, 2014, to mark the 150th anniversary of railway service in Sri Lanka. Old engines, locomotives, rail cars, trolleys, carriages, and machinery can be found in the museum.
Balumgala is a view point and rock in Kadugannawa. From the Pahala Kadugannawa general viewing point, Balumgala, which is situated at the Kadugannawa Gap, is well visible. Gorgeous views of the whole Kadugannawa valley can be seen from Balumgala Rock.
The best spot to stop on the way from Colombo to Kandy. tranquil location. Wonderful vistas. There is parking available. There are a few tiny stores. able to view monkeys and other natural animals. On the route to and from Kandy to Colombo, this is an unquestionably worthwhile stop.
Balana Fort is located in Sri Lanka, close to Kandy and Kadugannawa. The Kingdom of Kandy formed Balana, which translates to "look out" in Sinhala, to defend the Kingdom against foreign troops.
